Rouen is located 136 km west of Paris and is crossed by the Seine in the middle.
Originally, the city was located on the right bank of the Seine.

  • Rouen Cathedral

The Cathedral is the most prestigious monument in the city of Rouen. It is the seat of the archdiocese of Rouen, capital of the ecclesiastical province of Normandy.

It is a building of Gothic architecture.

Like most of the great Norman Gothic buildings, the cathedral is equipped with a "lantern tower".

Notre-Dame Cathedral is the tallest in France and was the tallest building in the world at the time of its completion in 1876, until 1880, dethroned by the Cathedral of Cologne (157 meters).



  • Gros Horloge
The Gros-Horloge is one of the emblematic monuments of Rouen.

  • Church of St. Ouen
Saint-Ouen Abbey Church is one of the main monuments of the city of Rouen; Its abbey church is a complete example of Gothic architecture in Normandy. The abbey is classified as historical monuments


  • Abbey Saint-Amand
According to tradition, the abbey is established on an ancient temple dedicated to Venus. The foundation seems to date back to the time of Clovis II.


  • Aqueduct Carville
It is listed under historical monuments in 2005.


  • Sainte-Catherine du Mont
The abbey was founded in 1030 by an eminent personage: Gosselin, viscount of Rouen, lord of Arques and Dieppe.

The facades and roofs are listed under historical monuments in 1975.
